You Won't Know

Another outfit featuring some of my many bargains of recent weeks! I just can't resist a good bargain. Speaking of which, I went to Sainsbury's yesterday to buy a large amount of cake-making ingredients and discovered I had £10 worth of points on my Nectar point, so ended up paying £6 for a £16 shop, ka-ching!

This week two of our boy housemates have gone to Amsterdam, so us four girls who live here are having 'girly week' which basically consists of watching films, eating cakes and gossiping. We're also going out into Cardiff on Wednesday in our pretty dresses and heels, which we never ever do, so very exciting!

The keen-eyed follower will notice that I've had my hair cut! I finally got sick of my old grown-out fringe hanging in my face looking limp and sad; having my short, blunt fringe back makes my hair look so much fresher, I'm so happy I decided to get it cut back in :)

In other news, my giveaway is ending tomorrow and there haven't been very many entries so lots of chance of winning, go enter!

Leopard Dress and Faux Fur

Hat: eBay
Leather jacket: Wallis
Faux fur stole: Dorothy Perkins
Dress: H&M
Creepers: Amazon
I'm not sure why the quality on the second photo is so weird. Maybe I've finally dropped my camera one too many times!

I've had loads of work to do this week, but of course I've been naughty and left it to the very last minute! By Friday hopefully it will all be over and I'll have a few fairly chillaxed weeks ahead of me!

I bought this dress in the H&M January sale for London. It's really flattering, but not really a sitting down dress, as the wrap bit at the front gets a bit awkward! Also, check out my lovely new faux fur stole from the Dorothy Perkins sale, I am so pleased I found one finally! It looks awesome with my leather jacket and generally everything in my wardrobe!

I haven't really worn this hat much recently as it's been so cold I've been preferring knitted bobble hats! I put this spiked River Island headband around my hat to make it look a bit different, you can't really tell here but I think it looks pretty cool!

50 Follower Giveaway

I never really expected anyone to be interested in my blog and what I have to say, and last week I reached 50 followers which feels like such an achievement! Thanks to all my lovely followers and the people who comment on my posts. I wanted to do a little mini giveaway to thank a couple of my readers.

(My bracelet and my Asos cat watch)

This giveaway is for one of three of these cute little infinity charm bracelets. I've had one of these for absolutely ages and never take it off. I also have an infinity tattoo (Perks of Being a Wallflower-inspired) on the back of my neck :) There will be three winners, all you have to do is follow my blog on GFC and press the button on the form below. Extra entries are awarded for following me on Twitter (I love chatting to people over there!) and Tweeting about the giveaway.

A Haul of Many Bargains

Hello all! Hope everyone is having fun playing in the snow, and if not then I hope you're having fun in general anyway! Thanks to the red weather warning for South Wales, Uni was cancelled yesterday so we went and built a snowman (complete with Carnage t-shirt and can of Tesco Value beer in hand) and went sledging on some old trays we found in the garden! It was a fun day but very chilly, and I was glad to get back into bed when we came home!

However I was in a bit of a bad mood this morning what with some results I received last night and having a cold and general grumpiness so I took myself out into the slushy mushy snow and went shopping for medicines and treats. I got some serious bargains and needless to say I am well out of my bad mood now!

At the bottom of this pile is a black skater dress from Dorothy Perkins (£18). I've wanted a black skater dress for ages but have never really found The One. Well, this is it. Also with 25% student discount!

Next is a maroon bobble hat. I don't really need another hat but again have wanted one like this for ages, and it was £8 in the sale and again I got 25% student discount so really it would have been rude to leave it in the shop.

From Boots I got some hair dye (need to re-bleach the underside of my hair, and fix the roots on the top, hence the two completely opposite colours!) and they were on offer for £4 each. Then I found some cold and flu pills in the clearance section, which really isn't very exciting but they were only 90p each and just what I need!

Then I found this eye cream in the clearance. I know I'm only 21 but it's never too early to start using anti-wrinkle cream, right? Also it says £3.50 but either the woman at the till made a mistake or the label was wrong because I only paid £1.50 for it!

And finally, my best bargain of all. Let me just take this opportunity to stress the importance of using the advantage card kiosks in Boots. These machines are clever; they know what you like. I buy a lot of 17 and Rimmel make up and always get discounts and offers on those brands. Today I had two vouchers, one was 'half price 17 magnetized nail polish' and one was 'free crackle top coat when you buy any 17 product'. If you can do the maths, you'll realise that I got two nail varnishes (which should have totalled about £8) for only £2! The best part is that this also happened to me last week, so in total I've saved myself  £12 on nail varnish in the past week, how good is that?!

Minnie Mouse Dress

Hello! Exciting news gang, I've finally reached 50 followers on GFC! Give me a few days and I'll be organising a giveaway with a few little treats for some lucky readers, just because I love you all and I'm really grateful that people take the time to read my blog :)

Dress: Topshop
Cardi: Vintage
Creepers: Amazon

This dress is an oldie from Topshop. It's not like me to wear coloured clothing so get a good look as before you know it I'll be back to normal dressing all in black and white!

I've had a pretty mad week, had an assignment due in today which was actually quite enjoyable to write as we chose to write about fashion accessories, but we had a bit of difficulty because it was a group report and my writing style is completely different to my coursemate I was working with so it looked a bit of a mess when we stuck it all together!

Also I went for an informal job interview/meeting in Cardiff to see if I can get a job doing promotions for FAO Events, and have also applied to write for their website (just need to create some writing samples to send in!) AND on top of this we've been trying to find a venue and some bands for a gig we're putting as part of our course on in March which is very exciting but not very easy seeing as we have no budget and have to use our own money!

So yeah, mad times! Off to Bristol tomorrow to see my lovely boyfriend, then back to work on a finance assignment when I get home on Thursday, the excitement never ends!

London's Mine

This time last week I was in London town, and it was amazing! I went with my lovely friend Ashley for his 21st birthday; he surprised me by booking us a room in the Hilton in London Bridge which was incredible! We also somehow got a free bottle of wine and an upgrade to a deluxe room!

Our room, free toiletries and the view from our window

We went on the Thursday and it took about three hours on the train. After we got the tube to the hotel and were done looking through the drawers and bouncing on the bed, we set off for Harrods. Unfortunately we went at rush hour so the tube was a bit mad but we made it in the end and explored for ages, looking at all the insanely priced luxuries and wishing we were rich. Then we had dinner at Leon burger and went to bed.

Outside Harrods, building block chocolates, lots of treats, huge stuffed toy animals

Massive sweets, Jelly Belly drinks!, Disney princess castle

On Friday we were planning to spend the day in Covent Garden then go see The Lion King later on, but on the way we decided on an impulse to go to Buckingham Palace for a nosy and we got there just in time for the changing of the guards which was good to see. I have actually been before, and last time I actually sat inside the gates (thank you Girl Guiding!) but this was just as exciting because everyone around was taking lots of photos and it was a good atmosphere.

Buckingham Palace, of course

View of Big Ben from The Mall

View of the London Eye from The Mall

Then we walked down (up?) The Mall and managed to find ourselves in Piccadilly Circus, then on to Regent Street where we went to Hamleys and again spent ages exploring and being generally amazed. After that we raided Zara, Topshop and River Island (and I got some awesome bargains while Ashley spend about £120 on shoes and t-shirts!).

Paddington Bear display, Royal Wedding bears and The Queen made out of Lego, all in Hamleys

We then walked through Soho and Chinatown to Leicester Square where we had a lovely (but rather pricey) dinner at Angus Steak House and then on to the Lyceum Theatre where we spent an extortionate amount on wine (£19 for two glasses!). The show was really good though, I liked that they used a lot of the songs from the Disney film because it meant I knew the words! And the costumes were incredible too. After that we were absolutely exhausted so straight back to the hotel and bed. And then we came home on the Saturday. What a weekend!

Moustache Socks and the Best Shoes

This morning as I was sitting around waiting for my hair to dry (exciting, I know) I heard a knock at the front door. Expecting it to be the courier with my roller skates I leaped to open it to find, not skates, but the most amazing pair of shoes I've ever owned. In the excitement over my roller skates (which should be here ANY DAY NOW) I almost forgot I'd ordered these!

What you can't see from these photos (lucky you) is that I am still wearing my pyjama top. I was just too excited to put these on haha!

I bought these creepers with the Amazon voucher that Daxon sent me which makes them even more amazing in my opinion! I've wanted some decent creepers for absolutely ages, and after the last pair I bought from River Island absolutely destroyed my feet and had to be sold on, I thought I'd never find the perfect pair. However, these are super comfy and they look great and I'm so excited to wear them all the time!!

Hep Cats

Finally I'm back at Uni where I have a tripod and space to take outfit photos! Here is a slightly lazy outfit including my new t-shirt I bought in London (from Monki in Carnaby Street). It's a bit hipster-y what with the triangle motif but it has cats on which means it is an instant winner ;) I had an amazing time in London, and am in the process of compiling a bit post full of photos I took there.

Jacket: M&S via my Mother
Hoodie: H&M about six years ago
T-shirt: Monki
Leggings: Topshop
Also check out my collection of board games and my Very Hungry Caterpillar toy box (full of toiletries)! I finally got shelves in my room so there is no longer clutter everywhere.

Today me and my housemate Anya went roller skate shopping in Bridgend which was exciting, we are both joining the Ponty Pirates roller derby team and our first skate session is on Friday. The woman in the shop was so friendly and helpful so it was a really lovely shopping trip. I am ridiculously excited to start skating again properly!

Mini January Sales Haul

I popped into town today to transfer some money for my London trip (tomorrow!) and got to Lloyds and realised I've left my savings card at Uni, such an idiot! So, with my lack of funds obviously at the front of my mind, I took myself sales shopping...

To be fair, I only spent £23. Putting my bargains together I realised how many patterns I've got going on, practically unheard of for me! I also managed to replace the sunglasses I broke in October (managed to find exactly the same ones!) and get myself a leopard print dress, something I've wanted for ages! So all in all, apart from the major fail on the banking front, today was quite a success! Now back to playing Sims 2 getting on with some Uni work ;)

Leopard print dress (£10) from H&M: This was reduced to half price because there's a button missing from the back. I have a hefty supply of buttons so this is no worry to me at all, winner!

Sparkly beanie (£3) and round sunglasses (£2) from River Island: I'm about 90% sure that my friend Ashley has bought me a beanie hat for a late Christmas present, but in case you weren't aware by now, I really can't resist a bit of sparkle! And I originally bought these sunglasses before the summer but like I said, they broke (actually I fixed the frames with masking tape and wore them to be a geek for Carnage haha!) but I love them as they make me look like a Tim Burton character!

Aztec print scarf (£5) from Topshop: This scarf is just unbelievably lovely. It's so soft and the pattern is beautiful. I can't wait to get myself a nice black blazer-style coat and wear this scarf with it! And then with everything else I own of course ;) Also the label said £7 but it scanned at the till as £5 AND I got 10% student discount, such a bargain!

Black/white/blue jazzy shorts (£3) from H&M: I bought these to wear for roller skating, quite simply. They're actually really flattering so I'ma have to look out for some more!

Wishlist #3

First of all I just want to say a big huge sorry for the serious lack of outfit posts over the past few weeks! I've been so busy with work and stuff, and I brought barely any nice clothes back from Uni with me! I'm going to London on Thursday and then after that I'm going back to Uni where my clothes, my tripod and my routine live! So normal outfit posts will resume from Monday, along with a big London photo post!

I'm also planning a little giveaway for when I reach 50 followers (at the time of writing this I am three away, so exciting!) I'm so grateful to everyone who reads and comments on my little blog, it makes me so happy! I'm already putting together a little goody bag with some beauty/jewellery bits in and might pick up some treats in London too, so keep your eyes peeled guys!

Anyway, on with my current wishlist; basics with a tiny bit of sparkle (I just can't resist!)

1. Speckle roll sleeve mini dress from Topshop: I really wish I had more dresses in my wardrobe. This dress is the perfect shape for me, and it has sleeves which is always a must. I think the price is a bit steep for a basic jersey dress but I guess it is Topshop, and their dresses are usually good quality.

2. Multi gem and lace collar from Miss Selfridge: Obviously I'd have to wear this with the Topshop dress! I love collars and statement necklaces; definitely need to expand my neckwear collection!

3. Black sequin cardi from Miss Selfridge: I don't have many cardigans, I always seem to wear the same black charity shop one over and over. Realistically I probably wouldn't wear this one, but, so sparkly!

4. Black slouchy jumper from H&M: I could do with a basic black jumper to wear with the midi skirt I eventually bought from my last wishlist. Also you can't really go wrong with a basic black jumper!

5. Oversized Madison blazer from Glamorous: I've been after a new coat for a while as I've been wearing my green parka pretty much every day for the past few months. This one is a bit steep in price for such a bold colour but I've found a similar one in black on eBay for under £10 and hopefully it will be mine when bidding ends tomorrow! Then of course I'll need a fur collar to add to it, this list just keeps growing!

6. Black double zip slouch bag from River Island: My current go-to handbags are canvas tote bags and I'm beginning to feel like I need something more secure and a bit less scruffy. This one would go with pretty much anything (I rarely wear brown, so yes, anything!) and the zips make it ideal for going between 'slouchy and stuffed with Uni crap' and a bit smarter for, you know, smarter things...
